Craft Class 17-8-11

This has been made with Tim Holtz distressing inks and a stamp. I love the colours, they make it so much more interesting that a block of colour. There are glitter dots in the trees but you cant really tell in the photos.

there is faux stitching around the edge, one of my favourite techniques :)
Another proud creation :D xxx

Monday Evening

I made this card tonight, I love VW campers, I have one we are doing up, so thought this was a nice paper to use.

If anyone is on facebook check out my new page The Craft Room. I am enjoying blogging and crafting so much I wanted my facebook friends to get involved. Hope you like it :)

Why are men so difficult!!!

I find cute girly cards so easy to do, they don't take much time to come up with the design. Now men on the other hand are a different story.

If you don't know them you cant use a hobby so you are a bit stuck.

I have made this birthday card for someone who likes bikes. I used straight clean lines and bold colours.

I hope you like it!

Monday Morning :(

After such a lovely weekend I was dissapointed that Monday has arrived so quickly. I was quickly cheered up this morning though when I read all of the lovely comments from everyone. Thank you everyone so much :)

One thing that made my day was getting a mention in this blog
http://maryjdesigns.blogspot.com/2011/08/make-it-monday-sponsored-by-cupcake.html

I was so chuffed when I read it.

Right....Im off to look at today's challenges :)

Lovely weekend

I decided that this weekend was to be a relaxing one, I really wanted to just do some crafting and nothing else. It was bliss. Im really chuffed with what I achieved.

This is using the me to you goody bag and the layout is from the do craft mag. The bear is a stamp that has been coloured using pencils and metallic pens. I am really enjoying stamping, it gives me a sense of pride when it goes right :)

I am not sure what my next card will be, I havent got any orders at the moment so I will probably look at the challenges this week and do something to enter into them.

I have subscribed to a couple of magazines (quick cards and papercraft) so I will have lots of ideas to come.

Challenge addiction

I only found out how to do the challenges today but I love it. It gives me a reason to keep making cards even when I have no orders!

I used the DoCraft goody bag for this one

Friday Today!!!

Well I am looking forward to the weekend. We have no plans so I am going to do all the housework tonight and then I will have two whole days of crafting. I quite fancy trying boxes for cards. In the papercraft mag there is a stationary set you can make and I love the look of it so I will give that a go.

Will also be trying to resist the range for yet another goody bag!!

I had an order from a friend who's friend collects tea pots. It was the perfect opportunity to use my free stamps I recieved with a magazine.

~Craft Us Crazy~ - Anything Goes

I made this last night for our friends daughter who will be seven. I asked her what she wanted and she said Spongebob. I am pleased with the results as I started off not knowing how on earth I was going to do it!!

At work but still crafting

Well I have finished all the work I have to do so I am sat here trawling the web for free digi stamps and backing papers. Its addictive!! Got some beautiful papers :)

My Mum is getting married in a week so I need to crack on with her card. I think I will re-do the cream one with flowers as it's so nice.

Still new at this blogging stuff so there isnt a lot to read at the moment but it will get better, promise :)

Class 9-8-11

This has got to be one of my favorite cards.

Very simple but oh so effective. The flowers are made with a Marriane die.
I am using it as a birthday card for a friends wife but I might make it again and give it to my mum for her wedding.

**Tip**

To finish off your backing papers get a sponge and put ink around the edges. You can also do this with shapes or flowers. Use a corrosponding ink and it will make your paper look fab!

Craft Class 3-8-11 - Embossing with heat tool

This stamp has been embossed with a heat tool. Any colour will look good and you can change the colour scheme of the card. I have done a mint green one too. The yellow paper has been embossed for definition.

Simple but looks very effective. This is a favourite :)

Class - Window Cards

A simple window card and decoupage. The roses on the front are die cut swirls rolled around. Any decoupage and colour scheme will work here. Or a snow theme for xmas?

Class - Mica Powders

These are examples of Mica powders.

Using a stamp with clear sticky ink, brush on mica power and it will stick to the stamp. Using different colours will give different effects.

If using mirri card, brush on talc before stamping, it will help the stamp to stick. Very fun and messy :)

Craft Class - Paper Flowers

This is one of my favorites :)

There are lots of techniques used in this card but they are all simple.

A good tip I can give is with your backing papers if you prick holes about 1/2cm apart and use a silver marker it looks like stitching. Really finishes it off. Plus, if you are like me and cant cut very straight it takes the eye away from this.

The shapes are all die cuts so thats very simple. The bird has been sanded down for definition.

The flowers are so effective but easy to make. If you fold a peice of tissue paper so you have 10 layers and drawer a circle (size of 2p) cut it out and you will have 10 circles. Pop a brad through and scrunch in each layer one by one, open them out slightly with a pokey tool and you have a gorgeous flower!! This looks fab in any colour for any card.

My First Craft Class - Oriental Fan

This was my first craft class.

The main aim of this class was to learn how to do the fan. So simple, all you need is an embossing board and a score lines to fold all the way down. Before you fold it tape the lace to the top.

The birds are die cuts just glued on top of the fan. A tassell and ribbon are attached to the bottom to finish it off.
